Shared dining that has to stay spotless
Food halls and food courts put many vendors and hundreds of diners into one shared room. Guests notice every crumb-covered table, full bin and wet patch on the floor, and they credit or blame the whole hall for it. Loom Janitorial provides day porters during service and night crews after close, so the shared spaces look their best from opening to the last order.
We map the hall with your operations manager: seating and table zones, condiment and waste stations, restrooms, corridors, back-of-house routes and any vendor kitchens on request.
Food halls across the region
Food halls range from small markets with a handful of vendors to large halls with a couple of dozen.
Each hall’s layout, vendor count and peak hours shape where porters stand and how the night crew’s route runs. We clean food halls and food courts in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose, along with mall food courts in Sacramento, Reno and other Northern California and Nevada cities.
Porters during service
While the hall is open, porters work the seating area continuously: wiping tables and chairs between guests, returning trays, refilling napkins, utensils and condiment stations, and emptying waste, recycling and compost stations before they overflow.
Spills are cleaned as soon as they happen, with wet-floor signs in place until the floor dries. Porters also loop through the restrooms during the rush, cleaning fixtures and restocking supplies. Our day porter janitorial services set hours around your peak meal periods.
Night deep cleaning
After the last vendor closes, the night crew cleans every table, chair and bench, including bases and undersides, scrubs condiment and waste stations, relines bins and clears the trash route.
Floors get the heaviest night work: machine scrubbing to remove tracked grease, attention to grout and edges, and scheduled refinishing through commercial floor care. Restrooms are disinfected fixture by fixture, and their floors and drains are scrubbed.
Corridors, entries and finishing touches
Entries, corridors and the stair or elevator lobbies that lead into the hall are cleaned on the night route, with glass doors, railings and kick plates wiped and walk-off mats vacuumed.
Planters, partitions, high chairs and menu boards within reach are cleaned regularly, and high dusting of light fixtures and signage runs on a periodic cycle.
Weekends, events and seasonal peaks
Food halls host weekend crowds, game-day rushes and private events. Porter hours scale up for those days, and a post-event clean resets seating, stations and restrooms before the next morning’s opening. Larger gatherings in the hall or next door can also be covered through our event venue cleaning.
Vendor kitchens on request
Vendor kitchens can be added for any vendor that asks: prep surfaces, equipment exteriors, floors and drains.
Every Loom cleaner is background-checked, supervisors inspect seating areas, stations and restrooms on a regular schedule, and the hall’s management receives a certificate of insurance.
Back-of-house corridors and the morning handoff
Behind the stalls, a hall shares spaces no diner sees: the service corridor, the shared dish room, the waste and compost room, and the loading door where produce comes in. These collect grease, spilled liquids and cardboard all day. The night crew scrubs the corridor floor, washes down the trash and compost room, wipes the bin lids and loading door, and moves broken-down boxes to the hauler’s pickup spot so morning deliveries roll through without obstacles.
Night work runs in a set order. Dining floors are scrubbed first so the surface has time to dry before vendors arrive to prep, then tables and stations go back in place, and restrooms are restocked last. When the first vendor unlocks, the seating area is ready, the bins are lined and the operations manager has the crew’s notes from the night.
Cost factors
Cost reflects seating capacity and floor area, porter hours during service, restroom count, the night task list, floor types and the frequency of periodic floor work. A written quote follows the walkthrough, with porter hours and night tasks listed as separate lines so you can see where the effort goes.
A few useful answers
Common questions
Can porters cover only our busiest meal periods?
Yes. Porter hours are set around your peak periods, and the night crew handles deep cleaning after close.
Will you clean vendor kitchens?
Yes, on request. Prep areas, equipment exteriors, floors and drains can be added for any vendor that asks.
How are spills handled while the hall is open?
Porters clean them right away and keep a wet-floor sign in place until the floor is dry.
Can you clean after a private event in the hall?
Yes. A post-event clean resets seating, stations, restrooms and floors before the hall opens the next day.
Do you clean mall food courts as well as food halls?
Yes. Mall food court seating, stations, restrooms and floors get the same day-porter and night-crew approach.
